Franchise Bits

The Business Journal reports that Franchise Foodservice, Inc - suppliers of food products to Taco Bell, Pizza Hut and other franchises, will be be taken over by Texas based McLane Foodservice. A move that will, hopefully, save some jobs.

Franchise Foodservices, who is now in receivership, said Monday that they have entered into a transition support agreement with McLane Foodservice Inc. McLane is based in Carollton, Texas. The transition is expected to happen over the next 2 months, with McLane agreeing to purchase existing inventory, hire qualified Franchise Foodservice employees and offer service to its customers as part of the agreement.

Franchise Foodservices is planning to close its doors on Nov. 16th. 126 jobs will be lost, according to filings with the state.
